Top online rummy site Rummy Royal is launching a special gin rummy tournament for the New Year. Beginning in 2012, the online rummy site will offer players a chance to play in the 2012 Kickoff tournament which will have $12,000 up for grabs!

The tournament will take place on January 1st 2012 at 19:30 GMT and players can register now to compete in the special tournament. Players will find the tournament option has a buy-in of just $25 and will have four re-buys available up to level 7.

Players who think the $25 buy-in is too high can earn their seat via the many multi table tournament qualifiers currently taking place at Rummy Royal. The multi table tournament qualifiers have a buy-in of just $2.50 and each $12,000 Voucher (Q) tournament will offer one $25 voucher guaranteed. These tournaments take place at 14:00, 18:00 and 21:00 GMT.

The online rummy site is also offering Quick Tourney Qualifiers which offers players seats to the special tournament as well. These qualifiers have a little larger buy-in than the multi table option but they still offer a lower buy-in than the main event.

The Quick Tourney Qualifiers are titled $12,000 Direct (Q) in the lobby and have buy-ins of $6.75 and $13. The $6.75 tournament is for four players while the $13 tournament has only two players competing. Each of these tournaments offers one $25 voucher guaranteed.
