Gin Rummy Sees Large Rise in Gamers
Since the 2006 regulations passed by the United States government, skill games have seen a large increase in online players. People have found alternative games to play instead of playing games where bets can be places. One such game that has seen an increase of 35% is Gin Rummy.

The RummyRoyal website, available both in the United states and the United Kingdom, has reported an increase of Americans playing skill games by 50%, with 35% of that number being players in Gin Rummy. RummyRoyal took a survey and 23 million Americans who played online games before the law was enforced have now moved on to skill games.

The study showed a preference for the game, Oklahoma Gin Rummy. Sasha Arkin, the game room manager for RummyRoyal, has stated that the “Changes and developments over the last two years have exposed Americans to games that are cleverer, with a long tradition behind them. The tradition of rummy, played in almost every home throughout the world, goes back hundreds of years and was in fact the most popular game in the Ottoman Empire. More recently, rummy, in all its variations, is gaining popularity in the UK and in France (known as kalooki for uk and rami in France), and even in China where they play Mahjong, the Chinese version of rummy".

Players may soon be able to move back to their old casino game play if new laws are passed that regulate the UIGEA. Legislatures are trying to pass bills that will place the game of poker as a skill game and make it legal to play and wager on.
