Math Book Uses Gin Rummy To Teach
There has been a math book that has gotten publicity recently for its unique way of teaching trigonometry, this book has been written by Dr. Yeo Ning Hong.

This book is entitled “Trig or Treat” and is filled with games to challenge the mind in mathematics.

In comments about this book Dr. Hong said that parents would spend much money in educational toys when for trigonometry however, the most successful way is with a deck of cards. He feels math should be fun for children and while his true education is in the field of a research chemist he has always held an obsession for mathematics.

He went on to say that while children do not recognize there is algebra in gin rummy many adults do not either.

According to Dr. Hong to play gin rummy a child will not realize there is algebra involved and that they are learning mathematics because it is being done in a way that will be fun rather than the usual method of learning algebra.

Dr. Hong as a gift for his grandchildren wrote this book and although they are not old enough yet he wanted to get this book written for when they are old enough.
