Men fined for playing illegal gambling game
Playing illegal gambling games is not a smart move but many gamblers enjoy the thrill of playing a game they know they should not be playing. Many players will play the game at their home or in other areas where they will most likely not be caught. However, most times the gamblers are caught and then are forced to pay a fine or serve jail time for playing illegal gambling games.

Four men from Kuching were recently fined for playing an illegal Jin Rummy game. The men range in age from 18 to 50 and they each had to pay a RM500 fine for playing the illegal game. If the men fail to pay the fine they have been given then they may face two weeks of jail time.

The men were accused of playing the game near a car workshop located in Jalan Sultan Tengah on December 30th. The men were caught and plead guilty to the Magistrate Maris Agan and were convicted under the Section 7 (2) of the Common Gaming Act 1953 which is illegal gambling.

When authorities arrived on the scene they seized gambling paraphernalia which was used to play the game of Jin Rummy and they also seized RM87 in money which was used to gamble on the game. All four men managed to settle the fine so they should not face any jail time.
